Day 1 – Arrival
You will be collected from Tirana Airport and then your guide and driver will give you a warm welcome before transferring you to your accommodation, the awesome Lake Shkodra Resort on Lake Skadar, where you get to stay in a treehouse or glamping bell tent right on the shores of the lake (swimming obligatory)! Group welcome dinner and introduction to the program that lies ahead. Overnight at Lake Shkodra Resort.

Day 2 – Kayaking on Lake Skadar / Rozafa Castle
Being right by the lake means it’s an ideal location for some kayaking! Paddling on the calm, warm waters is a perfect activity for those who like workouts and for those who like swimming – and you can even paddle a little way down the Bojana river, too. In the afternoon, we will make a visit to Rozafa Castle, which stands proud on a hilltop overlooking the town of Shkoder, and you will learnt he myths and legends that shaped this amazing area. Overnight at Lake Shkodra Resort.

Day 3 – Day trip to Thethi
No visit to this part of Albania is complete without a trip to the Albanian Alps. An astounding landscape awaits you after a car journey on one of the most amazing roads you’ll ever have travelled – and which is now more accessible than ever thanks to the new asphalt road! We will make a short hike to the gorgeous Blue Eye Waterfall, during which you will learn about blood feuds, sworn virgins and more. The scenery up here is staggeringly beautiful! Overnight at back at Lake Shkodra Resort.

Day 4 – transfer to Berat via amazing lunch
Our eventual destination is Berat, city of 1000 windows. This stunning hillside village on the steps of the Tomor mountains is a place of great beauty and tranquility. We suggest a walking tour of the old town and its castle, which affords wonderful views over the mosques onto Mt Tomor itself. As it’s a slightly longer journey, we will break it up with lunch at Rhapsodia, one of Albania’s very best restaurants. The tasting menu here is an absolute highlight and well worth the stop! Overnight at Hotel Castle Park, Berat.

Day  5 – White-water rafting / canyoning / river hiking
The nearby Osumi canyon offers the opportunity for many amazing activities! Until the end of June, we can go white-water rafting on a class 3 river – the hollows, natural sculptures, waterfalls flow in different shapes. You go through natural wonders like “the Cathedral”, the champagne waterfall, the Devil’s Gate and the Love Waterfall, whose legend says those who kiss under it will remain forever in love. In June/July, when the water levels on river are too low for rafting, you can instead travel parts of the same route on “foot”, splashing in and out of the natural pools and waterfalls! Overnight at Hotel Castle Park.

Day 6 – Mount Tomor 4×4 and mule caravan trip / Kayak & SUP on Tomor Lake
Mount Tomor, with an elevation of 2417 metres, has undoubtedly a special place in every Albanian’s heart – many legends surround it! We drive to the foothills by 4×4 and then ride mules (or hike, it’s up to you, kids!) into the deep forest and then up the slopes of the mountain with nature all around. We will enjoy a picnic of local products and gaze upon views fit for kings down below!

Additionally, if you fancy some more paddling, we can arrange for some stand up paddle-boarding lessons on the twin mountain lakes. Falling in positively encouraged…!

Transfer and overnight to the Karavasta National Park on the coast.

Day  7 – chilling on the Ionian sea
This day does what it says on the tin – time to relax and recharge after your adventures on the beautiful Ionian coast. Swimming, snorkelling and sampling the local seafood are highly recommended, with your accommodation just a stone’s throw from the beach. There are numerous optional extras you can select if you fancy more action – or just soak up the views instead! Overnight at Karavasta.

Day 8 – transfer back to Tirana airport (other destinations will incur an extra transfer charge)

Prices are in £ Sterling per person and include all transport, all activities, all accommodation, breakfast, most lunches, dinners and all guiding (drinks not included).

Family Multi-Active Albania 7 nights

Please note, on this holiday, accommodation is quirky and characterful – do not expect luxury! If for any reason the first choice accommodation is not available, we will let you know about the alternatives well in advance of your holiday.
