We had the most amazing family adventure holiday this year with our three boys (6,8,11) The adventure was brilliant. Activities were great fun for us all. Accommodation over the week was perfect. Food so tasty!

We had a fantastic time on our MNE-ALB hike with UndiscoveredBalkans. From the moment we reached out to Ben through the final step of our travels with Edo and Aurora the trip was flawless. This adventure was one week of our 6 week Balkan journey and we missed the tranquility of the Mountains and the amazing families and lodgings that hosted us. The views are beautiful, some days only passing a few other hikers and other days passing many more. Lots of trail conversations and new friends met. The lodgings range from simple mountain accommodations to nicely air conditioned properties (much needed during our week of hiking). The food is local and homemade, lunches provided each day with lots of fresh fruit, bread, tomatoes, cucumbers and homemade cheese and meet if you like.MNE: Edo was our hike guide and amazing. Despite how much we trained the heat won the battle at some moments and Edo was there to remind us to drink, take a break or encourage us along. He was also our driver and historian as well and we felt incredibly safe on the narrow MNE roads!ALB: Auroa (super woman) hiked across the mountain to pick us up and then hiked back over with us the next day. She is a wealth of historical and current country knowledge and also very supportive and encouraging when we needed it. We were able to enjoy the beauty of Albania from both mountains and water in these days.Thanks to the Undiscovered Balkans team for a wonderful week!

We have had an absolutely amazing experience - from booking and Ben’s advice before we travelled, to the week itself. Our guide, Alfie, was brilliant - friendly, helpful and so knowledgeable. He went above and beyond through the trip. The itinerary was as described and offered a varied and well organised programme. We will absolutely be booking another tour in the future and recommend them to anyone looking for an activity holiday.

Our family (parents plus two kids, 18 years and 15 years) had a great cross border hiking experience with our lovely guides Edo (Montenegro) and Aurora (Albania). Edo is enthusiastic, encouraging, great at capturing the fun with photos and videos and safety conscious. Aurora is super friendly, knowledgeable about Albania’s history and wildlife, cool and best friends with all the mountain strays! They both above and beyond to show us the best times and places. The hiking routes were also fabulous. We all had different favourite days. For me it was crossing into Albania. The scenery is amazing - meadows and rock faces - and we felt adventurous and looked after at the same time. Guesthouses were excellent in Albania and the cabins at the campsites were comfortable too. Food was delicious and plentiful- even for ravenous teenagers! We are sworn to return to complete the rest of the Peaks of the Balkans route and to explore the undiscovered Balkans more. Highly recommended.

The family activity holiday at Villa Miela was absolutely wonderful for myself and my 2 children, age 13 and 10. We got on brilliantly with the 3 other families and the activities were at just the right level, and always with the most incredible swim breaks! Javi and Ale were the perfect leaders, both highly organised and also full of fun! Everywhere we went was spectacularly beautiful!

Had a wonderful week at Villa Miela building memories! Ale and Javi and the rest of the team were brilliant hosts and guides. The holiday had just the right amount of activity including a boat ride, kayaking, hiking, cave exploring and wild swimming/jumping/diving in river pools and lake Skadar. The villa itself is very comfortable, has stunning views and is a lovely place to spend, well earned rest days, chilling on the terrace and jumping into the pool. We saw a wide array of wildlife both at the villa and on the excursions including eagles, herons, tortoise (not every day a tortoise causes a traffic jam), snakes, lizards, fish, crayfish and a mole which Javi rescued from the road. We were a large group of 7, adults and older children, and shared the villa with a couple of smaller family groups with younger children. Despite the age differences we were all catered for extremely well through the activities by the expert hosts. The local town is nice with a good selection of shops and restaurants. We opted to self cater for a number of the nights using the villas bbq and well equipped kitchen. Have to give an another shout out to Ale and Javi who are to put it simply “amazing people” who made the trip unforgettable. It is your passion that makes the trip to this beautiful corner of our planet all the better! Thanks so much!
