Following a week in Montenegro and prior to a few days in Corfu we used UB to arrange a 5 day road trip through Albania. Starting in Shkodër, taking in Lin and lake Ohrid, Permet, Gjirokaster and Qeparo, and many places in between we had a great 5 days including kayaking, walking, rafting, wild swimming and a lot of eating. The small guest houses UB use are a delight and our guide Alfie was first class. Thanks to Alfie and Ben for organising a great trip that included many highlights of our holiday.

This was a remarkable holiday. With thanks to our guide Alfie who added such value with his knowledge and passion for his home country. We had hoped to get off the beaten track on this trip and our expectations were exceeded. Interestingly in our party of four we all had a different highlight: eating a home-cooked meal at a farm stay during a dramatic thunderstorm (mine), SUP trip and river swims (husband), wild swimming in pristine rivers (13 year old) and Valbona to Theth hike (18 year old). Thanks for the authentic, considered itinerary and insight into Albania.

Amazing Albania from 19 -26 July 2026This was our second holiday with Undiscovered Balkans. Last year we returned from our trip to Montenegro claiming to have experienced the best vacation ever but this seems to have been outdone by our North Albania holiday this year. The whole tour was expertly put together: the different accommodations from glamping to farmhouse, guest house and hotel. All the activities so varied, exciting and extremely well organised and the countryside simply stunning! We will never forget how cold the water at the "Blue Eye" was! The fact that our group was made up of two families only gave us the impression that we were truly getting to know the country - or at least the northern part of it - and not simply viewing it with a bus load of people. But I need to also mention our guide Alfie who made this holiday truly outstanding: his local knowledge, organisational and problem fixing skills, calm demeanour in any situation turned a great trip into an unforgettable experience. The Keen family will be back!

This was a brilliant family holiday with Ale and Javi hosting with volunteers Alex and Aoife there at the time. Good balance between strenuous walking with scrambling over rocks at some points and relaxing days off. My boys aged 11 have said it was the best holiday ever

Awesome 'Super Active Montenegro Holiday'. Montenegro has a remarkably diverse landscape, and accompanying wildlife, from the freshwater Lake Skadar (sea level) to high mountains like Durmitor, and the Tara River. This lends itself to a fantastic range of adventurous activities within a relatively small area: canyoning, kayaking, white water rafting, high mountain hiking and mountain biking. We thoroughly enjoyed it, and really appreciated the expertise and deep knowledge of Miliya, our guide, who looked after us amazingly well. Excellent local food throughout. We would love to return. Highly recommended!!

Just back from a fantastic trip to North Macedonia with Undiscovered Balkans. We hiked through beautiful mountain scenery, swam in lakes, visited really interesting sites, and ate amazing food. A really lovely part of the world. Our guide Vojislav was great, so much knowledge and experience.

Just back from a fantastic trip to North Macedonia with Undiscovered Balkans. Our guide Vojislav was brilliant, so much knowledge and experience, and great company (speaks at least 3 languages!). We hiked in beautiful mountains, swam in lakes, visited interesting sites and national parks, and ate delicious food. Staying and eating in local accommodation and restaurants was great. It’s a really beautiful country, highly recommend the trip.

We've had a fantastic week exploring Albania with our guide, Alfie. The countryside is beautiful, the people friendly and the food amazing. All the activities went smoothly and enabled us to see Albania in all it's glory.
