What a wonderful week we had at Villa Miela! Ably hosted by Tobi and Adel and assisted by Simon and carly who, along with our fellow guests, were such good fun. The Lake took our breath away . What a sublime place . All are adventures , kayaking, swimming,hiking, wine tasting etc were well planned and even when plans were derailed (landslides,swollen rivers) back up plans were swiftly put into place . Nothing was too much trouble . I would highly recommend this holiday to anyone who likes beautiful scenery, abundant wildlife, lots of activities and great company. 🤩🤩

We had an amazing two week holiday with Undiscovered Balkans. One week in Bosnia, then one week in Serbia. We saw glorious scenery, ate amazing food, met wonderful people, and enjoyed heaps of different outdoor activities. We would go back in a heartbeat. We had an amazing two-week family holiday combining the family activity holiday in Bosnia and the family activity holiday in Serbia. We tacked on city breaks in Sarajevo and Belgrade at either end and made a three-week holiday of it. It was a wonderful experience and we would not hesitate to recommend the region or Undiscovered Balkans.We travelled as a family of four with a nine-year-old and a fourteen-year-old. The activities suited both children very well. We've been on many different types of holiday as a family and I found this the most successful. Our itinerary was packed but there was a lot of variety and plenty of time to rest and eat. We travelled in August which is very hot in the region but our guides tailored our routes to give us more time in the water or under tree coverage or an earlier start so there weren't any occasions really when we felt it was unbearable. The rivers are really incredible and for families who aren't into beaches, this is a great way to get all the fun of swimming and mucking about in the water without the sand and the crowds.

We spent an amazing two weeks in Bosnia and Serbia with Undiscovered Balkans. We loved all the activities we did (kayaking, hiking, whitewater rafting, wild swimming, via ferrata etc). We loved the food we ate, the places we saw, the people we met. Our guides were all amazing and the trip was very well organised. We would not hesitate to book through Undiscovered Balkans again. Perfect combination of activities from kayaking on the stunning lake, walking and swimming, and wine tasting (hic) and then down time if you wanted it, and very helpful suggestions of things to do in free time if you wanted to go off and explore on your own- even to the extent of booking things for us too thank you 🙏. Beautiful corner of the world and a real gem. The villa was truly stunning and missing the incredible views that we woke up to each morning so much. Fell in love with the yoga deck and hammocks and beakfast boxes were such a good idea and beautifullypresented. We had an incredible week staying at Villa Miela, met some great people and have made some wonderful memories. Thank you Tobi and Adel - you are brilliant! 🙏

We had the most amazing time from start to finish, such a great [kayaking] trip with beautiful landscape and warm welcoming locals.The team on the ground were super friendly helpful, accommodating and good fun.The communication was excellent, nothing was too much trouble.Local beer was great too, especially after a hard day paddling! Loved it!

Thank you Philomena and Alex for a wonderful experience in a great country. We'd highly recommend this holiday for folk who want to try something a bit different and out and about. Belgrade felt metropolitan but with bags of history and the Serbian countryside and mountains really did feel "Undiscovered". Lucky Us!I think Alex knows EVERYTHING and Philomena has a plan A, B, C (and D if needed) to cover all eventualities. Our activities were such fun but despite feeling quite adventurous I always felt safe and secure, even hanging off a tree on the end of a rope in a waterfall. It was a privilege to spend time eating seriously delicious and huge "Zero Air Mile" meals with the farming family. Reluctantly we had to turn down many offers of rakia both there and out and about on our walks.Activities were well planned and organised, even when weather conditions meant things had to be rescheduled.Don't do this if you are happy on a beach for a fortnight or if you are a pedant for the itinerary. This is quite active and being flexible and going with local guide knowledge means you'll get the most from it. We were there late summer/early autumn with mixed weather. Decent raincoats - no problem. Our hike with Philomena felt like a ramble with a friend and sunny kayaking on the Drina and river walking in the gorge were heavenly. Go with the Serbian flow and you will have a holiday to remember. Serbia feels like a country on the cusp of being a serious tourist destination (as yet undiscovered). Get there before other people find it. It's wonderful!

One of the best things about our 2023 holiday in Montenegro with Undiscovered Montenegro (and there were many great things!) was that our group included other children with whom our son, Joe, could bond and do the adventure activities. We hoped to replicate this experience for him this year. We mentioned this when booking our week in Croatia, so were a little concerned when, upon arrival, we found that there were no other guests booked for that week. Despite this, we had the most incredible experience in Ston, Croatia, thanks to our exceptional travel guide, Robi and the charming landscape and islands of Southern Dalmatia. From the moment we arrived, Robi went above and beyond to ensure that every aspect of our trip was tailored to our needs and desires - going so far as to invite his son on some activities so that Joe had some company. Robi's attention to detail and ability to adapt the itinerary to suit our preferences truly made this holiday unforgettable. As a guide, Robi added little 'extras' to the day's activities, such as oyster tasting after a day snorkelling and exploring a lake by kayak, meant that this holiday will live long in our memories. Robi flawlessly organised a mix of activities including kayaking, swimming, cycling, wine tasing and boat trips. What really stood out was his attentiveness to our preferences and abilities. Whether it was adjusting the kayaking route to explore more secluded spots, finding the perfect swimming coves, or creating cycling paths that matched our energy levels, he was constantly adapting the plan to maximise our enjoyment. Not only were the activities well-organised, but Robi was also extremely knowledgeable about the local culture and history, making each excursion both adventurous and educational. He taught us many 'fun facts' that I will try and retain (for example, why we use carats when measuring the purity of gold). We never felt rushed, and he was always checking in to ensure that we were comfortable and enjoying ourselves. His passion for sharing the beauty of Ston and its surrounding areas made us feel less like tourists and more like welcomed guests. In addition, his flexibility allowed us to experience the best of both adventure and relaxation. On the final day, he surprised us with a private boat trip to a number of islands and beach coves, where we enjoyed snorkelling in crystal clear waters and a simple lunch. It was these thoughtful touches that exceeded our expectations at every turn. We loved the unspoilt and relatively quiet Ston and especially enjoyed our day trip to the nearby, beautiful island of Mljet. The accommodation in Ston was also perfect for us. If you are looking for a truly personalised travel experience in Croatia, I can't recommend Robi and Undiscovered Balkans highly enough. His ability to tailor a holiday to fit your desires, combined with his genuine nature and care for his guests, makes him standout. This was a great trip and we have our guide to thank for it!
