7 Day Winter Skiing and Activity Holiday in Montenegro
“Emma and Ben have set out to change everyone’s understanding of skiing in this hidden gem…there’s far too much conviviality, beauty, charm and heaps of good food to keep wintertime Montenegro to themselves.” Mary Novakovich, The Daily Telegraph, March 2022
2026 departure dates: any Saturday, January-March
Montenegro is not just a summer destination. The high mountains with alpine conditions in the north of the country are fast developing a winter sports scene with a newly expanded ski centre in Kolašin. We’ve put together an awesome winter holiday program for snow hounds which showcases the best of this small Balkan country in winter.
Explore Montenegro’s spellbinding alpine landscape with our local hosts and guides in more ways than one during the week as you ski, snow shoe, sledge and take a night hike. Mixing skiing or snowboarding with snowshoeing and community-based adventures not only means you get a taste of everything, but it makes this break more sustainable.
Your base for the week is a charming, family-run wooden cabin complex just a 90-minute drive from Podgorica Airport. Kolašin ski centre boasts 45km of piste suitable for all levels of skiers and snowboarders. Feel free to take a beginner/refresher class with a fully licensed, English-speaking instructor first or dive straight into your three days’ skiing or snowboarding.
Evenings are spent by the roaring fire enjoying hearty, home-cooked food, mulled wine and ‘rakija’ brandy at the cabin’s small restaurant, relaxing ready for another day of adventures.
A late-hour departure on your final day offers up the chance to go from “ski to sea” by visiting Montenegro’s stunning Adriatic coastline, just two hours away.
